許翔威   作曲
許翔威投入創作廿多年，體裁廣泛，八十年代起已有管弦樂曲及室樂作品獲選於海外演出。近年常應邀為新類型組合作曲，如古琴口琴二重奏。許氏作品曾於世界各地演出及廣播，包括紐約林肯中心及卡奈基演奏廳首演，屢次參展於聯合國教科文組織國際作曲家交流會、世界口琴節及多個城市的音樂節。國際音樂家如Okko Kamu (芬蘭)、Arditti Quartet (英國)、Helen Jahren (瑞典)、Pierre Yves Artaud (法國) 及海外多個樂團也有演出其作品。
許氏歷任香港結他樂團駐團作曲家、香港口琴協會榮譽駐團作曲家、《樂友》主編及作曲家聯會理事，曾任教於香港音專及中文大學音樂系。許氏曾受香港藝術節委約數首新作，又為英皇口琴五重奏與香港管弦樂團及香港城市室樂團合演寫了數首始創協奏曲目、為香港小交響樂團創作長篇故事管弦樂，港樂曾兩度演奏其《情感與回憶之黑洞》，小交亦兩度演奏其《水仙之轉化》，香港中樂團則演出其作品《十三么》、《廟》、《恆河夜歌》、《太平年》、《樂中法．法中樂》等。新近首演樂曲是紀念韋瀚章教授誕生一百周年的《野草詞人》和「香江華采」第三首作品《飛舞九龍城》。
　
HUI Cheung Wai     composer

Hui’s works have been chosen by world-class masters such as Arditti Quartet or selected in international showcases, performed and broadcast in many cities of the world including débuts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. More than ten orchestras plus many renowned musicians like Okko Kamu, David Atherton, Pierre Yves Artaud, Helen Jahren, Michael Kieran Harvey, Sha and King’s Harmonica Quintet have performed his compositions.
  Hui has been Composer-in-Residence of Hong Kong Guitar Orchestra and Honorary Composer-in-Residence of the Hong Kong Harmonica Association for many years. Over ten orchestral works of Hui have been performed by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Hong Kong Sinfonietta and City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
  Hui cultivates on lesser-practiced genres, and contributes significant works for guitar ensemble, harmonica ensemble and guqin. Some of them are considered the first or sole work in the world. His recent commissioned works were written for Centenial of Lyricist Harold Wei, RTHK broadcast of Tse Chun Yan’s Guqin recital, HKCO Cadenza of Hong Kong Project and KHQ’s 20th Anniversary.
